I really enjoy talking to the students in the morning before we do the flag salutes and say our morning prayer. We all seem to be our freshest in the morning, especially after that first bowl of cereal for them, or cup of coffee for us. Hope abounds in the morning as we put one foot in front of the other and head out to conquer another day, usually with shoes in hand.
The Bible tells us that God’s mercies are new every morning. I, for one, am glad about that, because, even though it’s not true, I feel like I use up all of His mercies, every day. A new start is a good thing! I need to let His truths wash over my brain and soothe my soul. I’m guessing that you need this as well.
We probably don’t thank God enough for His amazing gift of mercy. I mean, think about it, His mercies are new every morning. That’s really something that should keep us overwhelmingly thankful. Maybe I will write that down and look at it every day.
